It’s a little embarrassing to admit, given my line of work, but it’s been a while since I’ve sent a holiday card. I was looking for something on my computer the other day and happened across the jpg files of holiday cards I’ve created since, well, ever. It was such a fun trip down memory lane.
There are some that I can’t seem to locate at the moment – I think they are on an old hard drive that I can’t seem to wake up. But one of my favorites was a photo of my son “asleep” on a little chair with a Santa hat on. Below it was one of my favorite quotes: “It’s the sweet simple things of life which are the real ones, after all.”
This one is special because I think my son is 3 or 4 here, and his writing is just precious. And to think he was ever this little. Oh my!
One of the most memorable ones was the year I decided to go over the top and create a card with multiple images on pearl paper. I also can’t seem to find the original files for this card, but here is a photograph of the actual card. Check out this crazy fold pattern, – it took forever and a day to fold those suckers. That was the last time I did anything like that!
Another favorite was a series of images from a trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. The images were beautiful, and the card had some neat cutouts to reveal images below. I used a quote that was beautiful, and the colors were so soft and pretty. I placed a collage of photos from our year on the back.

Another favorite is this one from the year that my daughter was born. This was such a fun photo shoot to do! And the images that resulted are some of my favorites ever. Such great memories.

The last card I sent out was a photograph of my kids and I. It was the year that my ex decided he wanted a divorce. The weekend that he moved out of our house, the kids and I went for a walk in the woods with my camera and tripod in hopes that we could take some nice “family” photos. I love this image. I printed it large and have it hanging in my house. I can see so much sadness in my eyes, but there is quiet strength as well. I used the image on my holiday card with the word “Peace”.

I’m also sharing some options from our “Clean” holiday card collection. If you’ve had a session earlier this year and would like to purchase holiday cards from this collection (or see more of our designs), please contact me! If you haven’t had a session this year yet, time is running out – contact me as soon as possible to book a time.
